I was looking for an exotic place where I could scuba dive. We found an exchange with this British couple, retired (a lot of them are in Cyprus) who wanted to visit Canada for years. The experience was just unbelievable. Their house was great and we could have access to all the vegetables and fruits from their garden before it rottens. We used their car as well as a little mupped which was absolutely perfect there. No rain at all for 30 days. We even took a quick trip to Libanon and another one to Petra and Jordan. Through the scuba dive center where I spent many hours I made friends and we had people coming over to diner once. In the meantime, our host had make sure we had support and we ended up playing squash, visiting and going out with some of their friends who make sure we did not get bored there. It was during the Europe Soccer competition and because they had the cable, we could see all the games and because France won, it was a great time!!!!!My wife and I enjoyed the experience tremendously and for this reason, I have started this web-site to help others live the same experience.

87	Omaha, Nebraska, USA	August of 2002	Holland	Johan & Gerda	My first home exchange proved to be an amazingly successful one. I picked Johan & Gerda up at the Omaha airport and we had a lovely dinner together. Then I boarded a plane for Holland and spent one wonderful month in their home & car. I home based in their beautiful home near the North Sea, taking day trips to wonderful islands and tiny Dutch villages. Then I took their car (I highly recommend a car exchange - - it saves sooo much money!) and traveled through Holland, Belgium & France, spending a week in Paris. When I left France to drive back to the house it was truly like coming home. The cat was waiting for me at the door (she had been cared for by the house keeper), the bike was ready for a quick spin around the village, and food was in the pantry ready for a great home cooked meal. Upon my return to Omaha Johan & Gerda and I spent more time together, becoming very good friends. In fact, they ended up staying a few extra days just so we could get to know each other better. I now feel like I have family in Holland. I've since exchanged in Vancouver and am now planning one in Australia. This is the absolute best way to travel! Rosemary -

Chantal et Jean- Claude 772	Bordeaux	non simultane	Dinan	758	Nous voulions nous rapprocher de la famille pour les fêtes (nous sommes originaires de Bordeaux) et j'avais trouvé un échange avec Sophie et Frédéric de Cestas près de Bordeaux qui étaient inscrit sur un autre site. Hélàs pour nous ils ont été invités peu après dans leur famille en Bourgogne et en Alsace, mais nous ont proposé gentiment de venir quand même chez eux. Il nous fallait absolument quelqu'un qui vienne chez nous et j'ai découvert prof2000 grâce au moteur de recherche d'internet et nous avons pu faire un échange différé avec Richard et son amie (membre 758) de Dinan qui recherchaient à venir en Provence pour Noël du 20 au 28/12. Nous avons découverts de nouveaux amis. Nous avons eu le temps de partager un repas ensemble. Nous irons chez eux en Août découvrir Dinan et leur belle région. Ils sont supers et ont pris un soin extrême de notre maison auquel nous avons été très sensibles. Nous avons été enchantés par notre séjour près de Bordeaux. Nos deux enfants qui habitent Paris nous avaient rejoints et nous avons pu passer de bons moments en famille et dans la famille où nous avons réveillonné et avons revisité la côte atlantique tout près, le Bassin d'Arcachon, la dune du Pyla, le Cap Ferret, Lacanau-océan, Arcachon et bien sûr Bordeaux toute illuminée pour les fêtes avec un beau marché de Noël et beaucoup d'animation. Que de souvenirs ! Sophie et Frédéric ont une grande maison très confortable qui borde la forêt dans un lotissement très calme et de charmants voisins. En été avec leur belle piscine, cela doit être encore plus super qu'à Noël. Ils ont des vélos à disposition et plein de pistes cyclables alentour. Sophie et Frédéric viennent nous rejoindre bientôt à prof2000 et nous les recommandons vivement.
Richard 758	Dinan Britany France	non-simultane	Bordeaux	Chantal et Jean - Claude 772	Concernant l'échange, ce que nous avons trouvé formidable c'est de rencontrer les gens avec qui nous avons fait l'échange, de parler de la région , de trouver des tas d'infos chez eux, d'avoir de petits cadeaux pour noël (là, Chantal et Jean Claude sont vraiment trop gentils !). On se rend compte qu'il ne faut pas être "complexés" d'avoir un plus petit logement que celui qui nous est proposé, car l'intérêt ne se mesure pas au nombre de mètres carrés... Nous avons déjà fait d'autres échanges car notre logement en bretagne est vide un mois en été et nous trouvons facilement des personnes qui aiment cette (superbe) région... richard
