Mit den folgenden Zeilen möchte ich versuchen, Ihnen das Haus vorzustellen. "House Marathia": ein mit viel Liebe erbautes Haus auf der Insel Zakynthos. Das Haus steht auf einem 5000m2 großem Grundstück, welches bis zum Meer reicht. Es liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Lage, fernab vom Trubel des Tourismus. Ab Marathia
Richtung SW finden Sie mit den Boot die schönsten, romantischsten Buchten der ganzen Insel Zakynthos. Sie finden Kiesstrände und Sandstrände in den
verschiedensten Formen. In einer Entfernung von ca. 400-800m sind zwei griechische Lokale, die von griechischen Familien geführt werden. Die Taverna " Ionion" (400m) bietet traumhafte griechische Köstlichkeiten ebenso wie den herrlichen Strand "Marathia Beach" mit Liegebetten und Schirmen. Sie finden in Marathia das beste original -italienische Restaurant von Zakynthos, "La Bruschetta" geführt von "Nino" und "Lea" aus Treviso.
Beim Bau des Hauses legte ich großen Wert auf die Erhaltung der Natur und des griechischen Stils. Wer Disco und Nachtleben sucht, findet das in der ca. 13km entfernten Ortschaft "Laganas" das Zentrum des Tourismus.
Die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit befindet sich in 2km Entfernung. Der romantische Hafen von "Kery" lädt ein zum Schwimmen, Wasserski, oder einfach nur zum Faulenzen. Im House Marathia können Sie ein Motorboot , Moped oder Auto mieten.

Wie kommt man nach Marathia ?

Sollten Sie mit dem Flugzeug anreisen: aus ganz Europa landen mehrmals die Woche die Flüge direkt auf Zakynthos. Wenn Sie mit dem Flugzeug die Insel besuchen, denken Sie daran, das Haus befindet sich vom Flughafen 16 km entfernt.
Leihwagen (besonders in der Hochsaison) unbedingt reservieren lassen. Eine angenehme Anreise, die auch ich bevorzuge, ist die Anreise mit der Autofähre
( täglich) über Italien nach Patras. Sie dauert ca. 34 Std. Weiter geht's dann mit dem eigenen Pkw in die kleine Hafenstadt Kilini. Patras-Kilini 70km. Eine Stunde Fahrzeit ! Dort setzen Sie über auf die Insel Zakynthos. Alle 2 Stunden geht die Autofähre nach Zakynthos. Fahrzeit ca.1 ½ Stunden.
Bis nach Marathia sind es 17km. Sie fahren über eine traumhafte Küstenstrasse, 100m über dem Meer entlang, dann sind es noch 500 m Schotterstrasse bis zum House Marathia.
Im House Marathia können Sie zwischen zwei Studios wählen. Beide haben eigene Küche/Kühlschrank/Badezimmer/Safe und D-Ventilator haben. Jedes
Studio hat eine ca.50m2 überdachte Terrasse. Die Studios sind für je zwei Personen ausgelegt.
Weiters steht ein Appartement mit zwei Schlafzimmern, ein 40m2 Wohnzimmer mit Küche, ein Badezimmer, D- Ventilator und eine 50m2 überdachte Terrasse
zur Verfügung. Alle Studios und Appartements sind mit Radio, Sat/Tv, Video ausgestattet. Ein Siemens Nixdorf Personal Computer kann benützt werden ( bitte
reservieren - Internet Anschluß in Vorbereitung ). Die Lage des Hauses ist ideal für alles, was den Urlaub zum Urlaub macht. Foto/Video Kamera nicht vergessen !
Auch für`s Joggen eignet sich die Gegend sehr gut. Kurz- gesagt: im "House Marathia" können Sie Leib und Seele baumeln lassen, geniessen und Kraft
tanken!

It's on the best place for a very nice holiday, (quiet)! Far from the Tourismous! Studio for two Persons. The "House Marathia" is 30m2 (kitchen with fridge, bath room and 50m2 terrace. There is also a radio and there is also the possibility to to put a third bed in the room. The house lies in a 5000m2 big piece of land which reaches down to the ocean. It lies in a very quiet position, far off the tourismous. At a distance of about 400-600m there are two greek taverns which are managed
by a greek family and where you can find the greek nature!
The house hasgot a greek style. The private beach is quiet and has little stones and sand. In the distance of 500m there is the most beautiful beach "Marathia
Beach" with the tavern "Dinisios". It is easy to walk there. If you are looking for disco and nigthlife, you can find this in Laganas, about 13km from Marathia. The next shopping place is in Kery (2km from Marathia). The romantic harbour of Kery invites you for swimming, water skying, jet-ski or just for being lazy. In " House Marathia " you can rent a motorboat, a motorbike, jet-ski, or car. There is a GSM-Telephon and sat-TV! Well, how do you get to Marathia? The house is about 17km from the airport. Taxis are easy to find. Another way to come, which I prefer, is through Italien. From Venice, Ancona about 36 houers. Then you drive with your car to Kilinni. One hour running time. There you take the ferry boat to Zakynthos (1½ hours). To Marathia it is 17km. You drive through a dreamful area,
100m above the ocean.

Zakynthos is a beautiful island of the Ionian Sea lying about 300 kilometres to south-west of Athen, facing the Western coasts of Peloponnese. It is an island rich in natural beauty, sights and beaches, having plenty of pleasures to offer to visitors. It has the historical tradition and legacy of an important cultural flourising, which took place in the Ionian Islands during the rennaisance and which is vividly depicted in the arts. The education, poetry, theatre, and painting of Zakynthos (ZANTE) Zakynthos is mingling with boundless natural beauty, and a remarkable historical tradition, which both cause an interest for a deeper familiarity with the island. Though the views concerning the origin pf the island's name are divided, the most prevailing one seem to be that refering to Zakynthos, the son of Phrygian King Dardmaos. Zakynthos is inhabited by 45.000 people, of which 12.000 live in the town (Zakynthos).
Most of the inhabitants are occupied by agriculture, tourism and other occupations. Such as fishing, ceramics, handicrafts etc. The Town of Zakynthos, is a town built at the foot of the hill, on top of which the castle lies and extends to the north, towards Akrotiri and to the south towards Kipus. All the civil services are in the town (telephone company, police office, post office, high schools and banks).

Also you can go jogging. Everything you want -House Marathia have all!
